Syrian Army enters new towns along international highway in northern Syria
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has entered several towns in the northern region of Syria today as part of their agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to a military source in northern Syria, the Syrian Army enters four towns in the Tal Tamr District, extending its control over a large part of the Hasakah-Aleppo Highway (M-4).

Among the sites entered by the Syrian Army was Umm al-Khayr, which was one of the towns that was bombed by the Ottoman Turkish Air Force earlier in the day, the source told al-Masdar.

The Syrian Army also entered al-Salamas, Dshisha and Granada, which are all located in the western part of the Tal Tamr District.

This move by the Syrian Army is a precautionary action to prevent the Ottoman Turkish Armed Forces from expanding their presence into the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) areas in northern Syria.

The Ottoman Turkish-backed turbans have already captured several villages near the Tal Tamr District, putting them within striking distance of the Syrian Army’s positions.
