Soldier injured in firing by Pakistani troops along LoC in Poonch

[HindustanTimes] A defence spokesperson said that Pak troops opened unprovoked firing in Mendhar sector on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.

They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....

Defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, "a soldier suffered minor splinter injuries after Pak troops opened unprovoked fire in Mendhar sector on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The soldier has been shifted to a hospital."

There has been heavy shelling by Pak troops along the Line of Control, the de facto border between the two countries, in the past few days.

One woman was killed and four other civilians were maimed in shelling by Pak forces in north Kashmir’s Tangdhar sector on Thursday. Station house officer Tanghdar Waseem Ahmad said that a woman identified as Hameed Fatimah of Hajitera was killed, and four civilians were maimed in the cross-LoC shelling on Thursday.

A civilian and two soldiers were killed in Tangdhar region last Saturday night. Three civilians were also injured in the shelling.
