Starship - The Journey Begins

| retired Starship hopper on the left, 1/2 of second stage of Starship 1 test article on the right. By nightfall it was on the launch platform. Today, Halloween, the top half of the second stage might be moved. Then the wings and stuff. I am guessing a month or so of pressurization and fueling test (Hopper had about 4 months) then a test flight of the 2nd stage before the end of the year. A point of context is that the USAF considers this a virtual rocket and refused bids on it for USAF work. The USAF considers Vulcan and OmegA which are still mainly paper and no visible testing to be the Real rockets. Heh! |
