Man is shot and killed after he charged at a deputy with a sword yelling 'Shoot me'
 [MAIL] Florida authorities said a man was fatally shot after he charged at a deputy with a sword yelling, 'Shoot me!'Michael Kifer, 29, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Saturday following a Friday night confrontation with deputies and the SWAT team from the Indian River County Sheriff's Office. Police said in a statement on Facebook that deputies were called to a home in Vero Beach to 'address' Kifer, who was said to have been 'intoxicated and/or under the influence of drugs.' On their way to the scene officers said they learned that Kifer had a knife and was making phone threats involving harming another person. Upon their arrival, Kifer was said to have run from the home on foot, before returning with a 'small hatchet.' Deputies then chased him, at which point he ran back inside the home, which was otherwise empty. When Kifer failed to respond to officers' attempts at contacting him, the SWAT and Crisis Negotiations Team (CNT) were called to the scene. Officers entered the home through the front door, while the SWAT team breached Kifer's bedroom window where Kifer was holed up and holding a foot-long sword. Police said Kifer shouted 'Shoot me!' and swore at deputies, before SWAT fired four beanbag rounds at him.
