3 killed in Ctg ‘gunfight' with Rab
[BanglaNews24] Three alleged
...alleged?? Since when do RAB junior officers tasked with writing up the reports use weaselly pseudo-legal vocabulary like alleged?
robbers were killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Batalion (RAB) in Sitakunda upazila
...it’s somewhere on the 10:1 map folded up in the file in the last file cabinet in the back of the third sub-basement. Get it out to the airport on a sunny, windless day to unfold, and you’ll be able to find it if you bring a strong magnifying glass....
early on Tuesday (Oct 29).
It was zero dark thirty, when all the good citizens were snuggly asleep in their beds, snoring disharmoniously. Suddenly, in the silence, the sound of a single shot rang out...
Through Rab claimed that three deceased were inter-district robbers but could not identify them.
Wanted in nine systems, they wuz — and in the end not even their mothers wanted them.
Squadron Leader Shafayat Jamil Fahim, the deputy commander of RAB-7, confirmed that three people were killed in the 'gun battle' with the elite force.
*Bang bang bangetty-bang* And when the bodies were found afterward, they had each been randomly shot behind the right ear.
RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media)
...good lord — how many assistant directors do RABs have nowadays?
said in a SMS that the gunfight occurred between inter-district robbers and the patrol team of RAB in the Chhota Kumira area of the upazila early in the morning.
It was zero dark forty-five when the silence returned, but the good citizens were carefully deaf to all but their own snores when the RAB men observed the bodies on the X-marked spot where all the gunfights have been occurring recently...
Later, three bullet-riddled bodies, two firearms with a foreign pistol, 12 rounds bullets and two sharp weapons were recovered from the scene.
Apparently, some firearms come equipped with a foreign pistol for backup.
Interesting things can be found between encounters in the velvet-lined cases in Sergeant Rafiq’s evidence room.
