Santa Clarita school shooter was initially mistaken as a victim: cops
[NYPOST] The teen shooter who opened fire on his high school campus in Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Thursday, wounding several and killing two, initially was mistaken as a victim by first responders after he was found with a gunshot wound to his head, police said.First responders found the 16-year-old shooter along with five other shot students on the quad of Saugus High School in Santa Clarita around 7:40 a.m. The students were hospitalized and Sherlocks later identified the shooter through firsthand witnesses, Los Angeles County officials said at a presser. "The suspect was later identified as one of the victims found in the quad," Capt. Kent Wegener with the sheriff’s homicide division said during a midday presser. Surveillance video from the school showed the shooter pull a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol from his backpack and shoot five students before he shot himself in the head, Wegener said.
