Bloomberg's media company announces it will no longer investigate him - or any other Democratic candidates - but all bets are off with Trump
- [Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait announced new guidelines for campaign coverage in a note to staff on Sunday
- The note came shortly after the former NYC mayor announced his candidacy
- Micklethwait said that the organization will continue its tradition of not investigating Bloomberg, or his family and foundation
- It will extend that policy to his rivals in the Democratic primary out of fairness
- Investigative coverage of President Trump's administration will proceed as usual
- That coverage will be reassessed should Bloomberg be chosen as the Democratic presidential candidate
- Bloomberg Opinion will also no longer run unsigned editorials as they typically reflected views of the founder
