Ex-Sudan president Omar al-Bashir sentenced to 2 years for corruption
[NY Post]  Former Sudan president Omar al-Bashir was convicted Saturday of corruption and money laundering and will face two years at a correctional facility. Now 75, al-Bashir was spared prison on account of his age, Sky News reported. His legal team loudly disputed the proceedings. His lawyers were ordered out of the court for interrupting the judge, shouting "this is just politics" before the verdict was handed down, CNN reported. The former strongman who ruled the country for 30 years was finally deposed in April after a military coup which followed a popular uprising.
