2 GSPC killed in Gherzoual
 Algerian anti-terrorist units killed two Islamic militants as a military offensive moved through a rebel stronghold east of the capital Algiers, state radio said today. The rebels were killed yesterday in a mountainous region of Boumerdes, near the village Gherzoual, some 60 km (40 miles) east of Algiers, the radio said. The attack came two days after security forces dismantled a GSPC bomb-making unit and killed four of its members in the Boumerdes province, according to newspaper reports.Posted by: Dan Darling 2005-02-08 |
