Wendy Davis wins Democratic primary in Texas’ Congressional District 21
[KVUE] Wendy Davis
She's baaaaack!
has won the Democratic nomination in Texas’ Congressional District 21. She will run against incumbent Chip Roy in the general election on Nov. 3 to determine who will represent the district in the U.S. House of Representatives.

AP called the race as Davis was ahead by a wide margin over her opponent, Jennie Lou Leeder.

Davis rose to fame after delivering a nearly 13-hour filibuster as a Texas State Senator in 2013. In 2014, Davis lost to Gov. Greg Abbott
... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too...
in Texas’ gubernatorial race.

Texas’ Congressional District 21 spans from Austin to San Antonio and covers Blanco and Gillespie counties.

According to Davis’ official campaign website, some of the issues she stands for include affordable healthcare for all Texans, common sense action regarding gun laws and reducing carbon emissions in the U.S.

More details on Davis’ policies can be found on her website.

Roy defeated Democrat Joseph Kopser in the 2018 general election. He filed for reelection in early December.
