Nonprofit group spends fraction of $30M raised to bail out Floyd protesters
[WASHINGTONEXAMINER] A nonprofit organization raising money to bail George Floyd protesters out of jail is under fire for allegedly spending only a fraction of what it raised on that cause.

The Minnesota Freedom Fund says it has spent over $200,000 it raised to bail out protesters, despite raising $30 million, which has sparked criticism on social media, according to the New York Post.

"Without jeopardizing the safety of the folks we bailed out we paid well over $200k in the weeks since the uprising alone," the fund tweeted Monday. "We are working on doing more."

Some Twitter users were incensed by the news and started posting about the situation, which ultimately resulted in "35 MILLION" and "only 200k" trending on Twitter.

"Return the money to people NOW. Before we find a way to take it back anyway," one person responded. "Raised 35 million and only 200k went to bail funds? Absolutely no justification for that."

Another user responded, "Nah, we want receipts. You received millions."

"This sounds familiar," journalist Andy Ngo posted along with a tweet criticizing another similar organization for alleged dishonest fundraising.
