Security guard, 18, is shot dead by California cops after 'producing a handgun'

- Andres Guardado, 18, was working outside an autobody shop in Gardena in LA He allegedly noticed police patrolling the area and produced a handgun
Why on earth did he do something so very stupid?
- Officers approached him and drew their weapons, at which point Guardado fled
- Deputies chased Guardado before one opened fire, striking his upper torso
- His heartbroken sister wept as she told reporters: 'I lost a part of me, it's empty'
- Guardado's death comes after riots swept across the US against police brutality
- George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed after Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck for nearly nine minutes last month
