Harvey Weinstein accusers awarded nearly $19million payout, released from NDAs, New York Attorney General announces
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] - On Tuesday the New York Attorney General's office announced a nearly $19million payout to some of Weinstein's harassment and sexual abuse accusers
- A compensation fund of $18,875,000 will be created
- The money will be shared between dozens of the movie mogul's accusers and will resolve two sexual misconduct lawsuits against him
- One lawsuit is related to harassment at Weinstein's company and another is a class action suit by nine women who accuse Weinstein of assault
- The payout needs to be approved by the bankruptcy and district court
- He was sentenced to 23 years in jail in March, guilty of rape and sexual assault
