Coronavirus likely killed 28% MORE Americans than were counted in the official death toll between March and May - and THREE TIMES as many people died in NYC compared to past years
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Researchers looked at all deaths for Americans that occurred between March 1, 2020 and May 30, 2020

  • During this time period, 95,235 deaths were attributed to COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus

  • However, the number of 'excess' deaths from any causes was 122,300, about 28% higher than the official coronavirus death count

  • This means that health officials likely missed around 27,000 deaths that can be linked to COVID-19

  • Three times as many New Yorkers died from all causes than usually do during the three-month window
