- The clashes took place just days after a Black Lives Matter mural was painted on Fifth Avenue in front of tower
- In Brooklyn, some 400 people demonstrated in support of the New York Police Department
- They were met by some 20 counter-demonstrators carrying signs that read 'Black Lives Matter'
- In Los Angeles, protesters denounced the police and the LA County Sheriff's Department on Saturday
- Meanwhile, some 100 LAPD officers and their supporters held a rally to support the cops in downtown LA
- In Burlington, North Carolina, Black Lives Matter protesters clashed with supporters of Confederate statues
