- Video shows deputy ordered Ruis to drop the knife and backed away, but suspect continued advancing on her, prompting her to open fire
- Deputy, a 22-year veteran, is seen on bodycam video firing at least nine rounds
- Ruis worked for Michigan Department of Transportation and had no past criminal record
