Sudan's civilian state governors take constitutional oath
[Al Ahram] Sudan's newly-appointed civilian state governors on Monday took the constitutional oath.

The state governors expressed commitment to improving citizens' living conditions in the presence of Chairman of Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and Chief Justice Nemat Abdallah.

On July 22, Hamdok appointed 18 civilian governors for the states, including two women for the first time.

The appointment of state governors had faltered for about 10 months amid differences over the structures of Sudan's transitional authority.
