Bill de Blasio: 'Observers' will protect NYC voters on Election Day
[NYPOST] The city will deploy a team of "observers" to low-income and immigrant communities to thwart voter intimidation on Election Day, Mayor Comrade Bill de Blasio ...cryptocommie mayor of New York and for some reason a Dem candidate for president in 2020. New Yorkers voted for him, so they deserve him...said Friday."Clearly President Trump has tried to discourage people from voting, suggested election results will not be legitimate," the mayor said on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe." "Some of his followers clearly have been practicing intimidation tactics around this country." De Blasio said an "election observer corps" — comprised of hundreds of lawyers, city officials and volunteers — will be "out there protecting the vote" on Nov. 3. "We know where this is going to be targeted, it’s where it’s always been targeted — lower-income communities, immigrant communities where people of color live," he said. "That’s where intimidation efforts have been over the years." "We’re going to have a strong voter protection effort because you cannot let this election be stolen by intimidation," Hizzoner added. The city’s move follows an announcement earlier this week by the NYPD that more coppers will be stationed at all 1,201 polling places across the five boroughs, as well as the 88 locations where early voting will take place beginning Saturday.
