Ukrainian SBU said weapons parts sold and shipped to North America
[Korrespondent] The intelligence officers have documented several dozen facts of smuggling and warned the sending abroad of 20 parcels with elements of military weapons.The security service blocked the channel for the illegal transfer abroad of the main parts of rifled small arms of various types, organized by the spouses from Kiev. This was reported on the website of the special services on Wednesday, January 27. According to preliminary data, the suspects bought components for small arms, including Kalashnikov assault rifles and light machine guns of various modifications, as well as Dragunov sniper rifles. The suspects found clients on thematic Internet forums and forwarded goods to customers, mainly from North America, using international mail services from offices in the regional centers of Zhytomyr and Kiev regions. The defendants processed the items remotely through electronic accounts that were registered to non-existent persons. The SBU officers documented several dozen facts of smuggling (part 2 of article 15, part 1 of article 201 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and warned the sending abroad of 20 parcels with elements of military weapons. Urgent investigative actions are now continuing. Sources of supply of components for weapons are established.
