Chihuahua state prosecutor denies nexus between drug gangs
 An apparent nexus between the Juarez cartel and the Jalisco Nueva Generacion Cartel does not exist, according to the Chihuahua state Procuradoria del Estado (PGE).Cesar Augusto Peniche was quoted in El Diario de Parral Mexican news daily, saying that his office had not detected "a piece of information" that would indicate a nexus between La Linea and Jalisco Nuevo Generacion. Peniche's denial likely stems from a news item which appeared in the online edition of El Heraldo de Chihuahua Sunday, which reported a meeting between the Jalisco Nuevo Generacion Cartel and La Linea drug cartel. The sources for the report were anonymous, but no direct indications or quotes, which would indicate the PGE and local prosecutors were aware of a meeting between the two criminal organizations some weeks ago. The article states that private messaging among prosecutors took place in the wake of the meeting. The thrust of the news article was that an alliance, or an agreement, did take place.
