Killings surge in Syria camp housing Islamic State families
 [AlAhram] It has been nearly two years since the US-led coalition captured the last sliver of territory held by the IS group, ending their self-declared caliphate that covered large parts of Iraq and SyriaThe deaths stacked up: a policeman rubbed out with a pistol equipped with a silencer, a local official bumped off, his son maimed, an Iraqi man beheaded. In total, 20 men and women were killed last month in the sprawling camp in northeastern Syria housing families of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more.
