Black officer is fired by Tampa police for using the N-word
 - [Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] Delvin White was fired Tuesday for 'violations of policy that prohibit discriminatory conduct', according to the Tampa Police Department
- The 8 year department veteran was a resource officer at Middleton High School
- He is said to have used the N-word while on the phone and directly to a person he was arresting on November 30, The Tampa Bay Times reported
- White was recorded using both the slur and the word 'ghetto' to reference a group of people while on the phone and driving home on November 13
- He later used it again while talking on the phone with his wife
- White told his supervisor he did not mean for the word to be derogatory
- The Tampa Police Benevolent Association said in a statement it is backing White
