Jewish family in bus pelted with stones in East Jerusalem, vehicle set alight
[IsraelTimes] Police say driver headed into Issawiya to make a shortcut, before residents assaulted the family; none hurt.A Jewish family that entered the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya ...they aren’t fond of interlopers over there... Saturday evening was attacked by residents, who pelted their vehicle with stones.The family was traveling alone in an Egged bus driven by the father. According to police the driver had headed into Issawiya to make a shortcut. The family fled the vehicle and were met by security forces nearby. None of the family members were maimed. The bus was then set on fire by rioters. Police said forces were working to restore order at the scene. A similar incident occurred last month, when a Jewish man’s car was stoned after he accidentally drove into Issawiya. The man was lightly injured and treated at the scene. Transportation Minister Miri Regev (Likud) on Saturday night condemned the attack, saying she trusts "the security forces and police to bring to justice the perpetrators of the incident, and to prosecute them to the full extent of the law."
