'Breaking Bad' teacher, 40, is shot dead in bedroom of Mexican cartel stash house while trying to steal two pounds of coke after planting GPS trackers on gang members
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]- Barney Dale Harris, 40, was shot dead when he raided the cartel's stash house in Green Level, north-west of Raleigh, on April 8 to steal drugs and cash
- Harris and his brother-in-law Steven Alexander Stewart broke into a mobile home used by the cartel after tracking them with electronic devices
- Authorities say the shootout broke out after Harris and Stewart shot dead an 18-year-old cartel member who confronted them
- Harris, who was wearing a bullet proof vest, was killed in the shootout
- The circumstances surrounding Harris' death has left his community and authorities dumbfounded
- Harris, who leaves behind a wife and three children, taught Spanish at Union Academy Charter School
- He was also the head coach of the school's varsity basketball and track teams
