Somalia: Puntland crushes 'terrorist networks' behind assassinations
 [Garowe] Maintaining their efficient and determined war on terror, Puntland...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... security forces inflicted a heavy blow on al-Shabaab ...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them... in the latest operations launched following a string of terrorist attacks.
