- Despite fears the warships are carrying weapons as well as oil, US authorities are unable to stop them because of sovereign immunity

- Intelligence already has indicated that the Makran is carrying Iranian fast-attack craft and has a mobile launch platform for helicopters
- US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin raised fears on Thursday that the vessels could possibly be carrying weapons
- Biden administration official said the US views delivery of weapons in its hemisphere as a threat and that it will take 'appropriate measures' to prevent it
