Quake jolts northern Japan
Breaking News AN earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale shook northern Japan early Monday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage. The quake occurred at 2.57am (3.57am AEST), with its focus 40km below sea level off the coast of Fukushima, some 200km north of Tokyo, the agency said.
