Six civilians killed in rebel attack on C.Africa village
[AlAhram] Six non-combatants were killed and several maimed Saturday by rebels in a village in the northeast of the perennially volatile Central African Republic, the UN peacepeeking mission said."This morning at dawn elements from the 3R (Return, Reclamation, Rehabilitation) ...a Moslem Fulani rebel group in northwestern Central African Republic that joined the Coalition of Patriots for Change — a coalition of Muslim, Christian, animist, and other CAR rebel groups that united last December to disrupt the 2020–21 general election. Like all the other groups in the CAR they have a habit of committing atrocities... launched a large-scale attack against C.African army positions in the village of Mann," the front man for the MINUSCA mission said, adding: "Six non-combatants were killed and several maimed."The village is about 550 kilometres (340 miles) from the capital Bangui, Lieutenant Colonel Abdoulaziz Fall told AFP.
