- He was sentenced to 46 months in prison on Wednesday by an Arizona court
- The 35-year-old was a driver for the consulate office and had been arrested in November 2020 for attempting to smuggle firearms into Mexico
- He was busted with five handguns and 10 rifles, including a Barrett .50
- Earlier this month, the Mexican government filed a lawsuit against 10 gunmakers and distributors located in the United States
