[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] - New law allows Texas residents who legally own guns to carry the firearms openly without a license or having to complete training
- It is now the 20th state in the U.S. to allow residents to openly carry a firearm without a permit after after Iowa, Tennessee, Montana, Utah and Wyoming all passed a similar laws this year
- Gov. Greg Abbot had vowed to make Texas a 'sanctuary state' for gun rights
- The law comes two years after the deadly El Passo and Midland and Odessa mass shootings that left 30 dead and dozens injured
- The state has seen a 14% rise in shootings in 2021, with 38 shootings reported this August, a 40% increase in last year
Is that increase across the state. or just in Democrat-controlled cities that are hospitable to Antifa/BLM and gangs?
