Six hit by gunfire near MLK Drive in scenic East St. Louis, Illinois
 [USA Today] Authorities in East St. Louis, Illinois, are searching for several suspects who they say shot six people before crashing into a commuter train in a dangerous getaway attempt Thursday. The shooting happened around 4 p.m. local time in the city's downtown area, near 6th Street and Martin Luther King Drive, Illinois State Police said in a statement. Six were hit with bullets and another person, a juvenile, was also injured. All seven were hospitalized. Their conditions were not immediately available, police spokeswoman Beth Hundsdorfer said. The St. Louis Metro said on Twitter that service had been disrupted due to a car on the tracks and told riders to expect delays. The three suspects were on the run in a nearby wooded area, according to reports. According to KMOV-4, about 10 train passengers were being treated for injuries on the scene.
