Sadr sets out rules for the US when Sadrists assume premiership

He had his hereditary rival, al-Khoei, assassinated only a few hours after the holy rival's appearance out of exile in 2003. Formerly an Iranian catspaw, lately he's gagged over some of their more outlandish antics, then went back to catspawry... set conditions for the U.S. to follow should his party assume the Iraqi premiership in the new government in an English statement on Saturday, calling on the U.S. to respect Iraq’s illusory sovereignty and not interfere with the country’s internal matters. Sadr tweeted a seven point statement saying that one of the most important matters to people when they assume premiership is their stance with the U.S., and he set out the expectations they hold for the Americans.
