AOC condemns Dem leaders for ignoring 'very real' threat of fascism
[NYPOST] Rep. Alexandria SandyOcasio-Cortez  Dem Congressgirl from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details. She was the inventor of the Green New Deal, though she doesn't talk about it much anymore... on Saturday ripped moderate Democratic leaders who refuse to back far left-leaning party candidates for elected office, insisting they’re ignoring a significant threat of fascism  ...a political system developed in Italy, symbolized by the Roman fasces-- thin reeds, each flimsy in itself but unbreakable when bound into a bundle. Its distinguishing philosophical feature is the Corporate State, which is the alliance of big business and labor with the government in service to the all-powerful State. The word is nowadays thrown around by all sorts of oddballs who have no idea what they're talking about... During a rally in Buffalo, the Queens congresswoman and socialist superstar said such behavior is "embarrassing." "When a nominee wins, I don’t try to undermine the entire political party," Ocasio-Cortez said. "You know why? Because in the grander scheme of things we are facing a very real fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... threat in this country." The congresswoman was in town to back the mayoral bid of fellow socialist India Walton, who won the Democratic primary but is competing on Election Day against four-term incumbent Byron Brown, who is running as a write-in. AOC came to Walton’s defense Tuesday after state Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs argued he shouldn’t have to extend his support to Democratic candidates in every case and then made a controversial comparison between Walton and David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klan leader.
