ISIS plot to blow up Virginia malls: Cops increase security after warning that terror group is plotting attack just miles from nation's capitol UPDATE: Afghan refugees involved?
[Daily Mail, Where America Gets Its News] - Cops in Northern Virginia have been warned by ISIS of a potential threat at malls and shopping centers, according to Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis
- Increased law enforcement will continue through Halloween weekend and into Tuesday - Election Day - when McAuliffe and Youngkin compete for governor
- Officers were already reportedly patrolling the area around Fair Oaks Mall, which is located 20miles outside of Washington, DC
- Earlier this week Department of Homeland Security's intelligence chief John Cohen said ISIS wants individuals to act on their own in lone-wolf attacks
- US intelligence agencies also said they believe the Islamic State in Afghanistan could develop the capability to attack the United States in as little as six months
- The worrisome announcements come after the rapid end of America's 20-year war, which resulted in the death of 13 US troops killed in an ISIS-K suicide attack
