Yemen: Fighting for the citadel
 [AlAhram] Ongoing warfare in Marib, al-Bayda, Shabwah and elsewhere in Yemen...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... has created one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world, second only to the manmade famine caused by the Æthiopian government’s war in the Tigray. According to Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Deputy Emergency Relief Coordinator Ramesh Rajasingham, more than 20 million Yemenis, or two-thirds of the population, need assistance from aid agencies.
