Members of Iranian-backed militias killed in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

A military source of the Iranian-backed Liwa al-Quds in al-Bukamal, on the Syrian-Iraqi border, said a clash erupted between ISIS and Iranian-backed militias near Ma’izilah dam in the southern desert of al-Bukamal. The clash resulted in the killing of four members, all of them Syrians, and the injury of two others. The source, on condition of anonymity, added to North Press that the clash lasted for more than three hours, where ISIS had to withdraw after the arrival of reinforcements for the Iranian militias. There are about 30 recruiting centers deploying in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, west of the Euphrates River, most of them were houses belonging to residents that were seized by Iranian-backed factions under the pretext that their owners are residing in areas held by either Syrian Democratic Forces or opposition factions.
