On Holodomor Remembrance Day activists toppled NKVD monument
From a Facebook posting by Rodion Shovkoshytnyi:
In 1932, the Bolsheviks came to my great-grandfather. He was detained, a woman with 6 children thrown into the snow and frost. The house he built himself was taken under the silrad, all the property was confiscated.

In 1932-33 only in a few Cossack villages of Peryaslav-Khmelnytsky district in the Kyiv region 38 Silkyošitnih died. Our closest relatives are Shili. 13 were killed that year. Relatives along the women's lines with Katrech and Zakharchenko lost about as much. About a hundred I mean. How many were killed 1921-22 - there are no statistics. In 1946-47 also unknown.

227 Regiment NKVD had a place of deployment Kiev and Kiev region. In 1939-1941 this regiment carried out the guard and convoy of Polish prisoners of war after Stalin attacked Poland. And also carried out the deportation of individual population groups from Ukrainian territories, security prisons and warehouses.

Ck Včk, Ck, OGPU, NKVD - made criminal decisions, gave criminal orders, followed them. This is without exaggerating the law of the Ukrainian people.

This monument was supposed to be demolished before November 21, 2015. He falls under decommunization. Instead, here on May 9, flowers are carried by the local authorities and former berkuta from Brovary.
Today, on the day of remembrance of the victims of Holodomor, caring citizens destroyed this xyin ю. I'm proud to have seen it in person: it's personal to me.

On the way back, three of our crews were detained by the police, but that's the details. I would like to encourage caring citizens to organize in groups and conduct decommunization on their own settlements.

Here's a map ( http://decommunize.kharkiv.ua/
) choose your nearest red and wear it in memory of your relatives.

This is not complicated at all.

Thank you to everyone involved. And don't forget to light a memory candle today.
It's all in Ukrainian language:
