Man is jailed for life for driving Mercedes into German carnival parade last year, seriously injuring 90 people
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] - Maurice Pahler, 31, given life term for German carnival attack in February 2020
- He was convicted of 89 counts of attempted murder after driving into crowds watching parade in Volkmarsen in Hesse
- Prosecutors said attack was deliberate, and he filmed it using a dash camera
- But not motive was given - Pahler has never spoken to police about the attack, gave no testimony, and refused to cooperate with psychologists
It seems reasonable to assume this was therefore not jihad — jihadis tend to shriek their devotion to the skies. A psychiatric assessment of Maurice P. concluded that he suffers from a severe personality disorder that includes narcissistic, schizophrenic and paranoid traits.
However, he was not deemed to be in need of stationary psychiatric care.
