- The baby boy was found alive and crying inside a garbage bag six hours later
- The infant was diagnosed with hypothermia and given oxygen and a blood transfusion
- Alexis Avila, 18, confessed to putting the baby in a trash bag and throwing it in a dumpster
- The teen has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and child abuse on Monday
- Avila claimed she did not know she was pregnant until a day before delivering her son in her parents' bathroom
- Avila was released less than an hour after her arrest on $10,000 bond, and will be arraigned at a later date
- Avila could face up to 15 years in prison, depending on what charges are ultimately filed said Dianna Luce, the district attorney
