Iraqi faction turns residential buildings into military barracks in Syria's Deir ez-Zor
[NPASYRIA] Iranian-backed Iraqi faction, with the support of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) seized five residential buildings yesterday after expelling their residents and turned them into military barracks, in the town of al-Bukamal, on the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Members of the Iraqi Nineveh faction (a new Iranian-backed faction) took over the buildings near the old prison neighborhood and turned them into military barracks, a military source from the government forces in the town of al-Bukamal told North Press.

The faction includes about 200 members, all of whom are Iraqis, and works directly under the direction of the IRGC, the source added.

Iranian-backed factions control large areas of Deir ez-Zor and practice a policy of violence, according to press reports.
