HTS arrests media activist in Idlib
DLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday,Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) arrested a media activist along with his wife in Sarmada town north of Idlib, northwest Syria. The public security organ of HTS arrested the media activist Mohammed Sbeh at a checkpoint in Sarmada, local sources told North Press. Only hours after the arrest, HTS members stormed his house, confiscated all his media equipment and his mobile phone, and arrested his wife, who was released hours later, the source said. HTS arrests activists and journalists repeatedly for allegations of criticizing HTS’s practices, reports said. HTS continues to strangle the people and controls all aspects of life in the areas it holds.
