US Army investigates death of medevac pilot who crashed Black Hawk helicopter into another chopper at Georgia base while crewmembers slept
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Where were the crewmembers sleeping?
- The US Army is investigating whether the crash of two HH-60 Black Hawk helicopters at Wright Army Airfield in Georgia last month was intentional
- Capt. James Bellew, 26, was on medevac duty at the airfield on March 30 when the two helicopters crashed into each other at around 2 a.m.
- He was the only crewmember involved in the crash and was the only one killed or injured as all of the other crewmembers were asleep at that time
- It is unclear how he was able to start at least one of the helicopters without waking anyone
- The Criminal Investigation Division is now probing the crash, which indicates that criminal activity is suspected
