Brave 14-year-old girl arms herself with steak knives, scares away intruder who broke into her home where she was alone with her 12-year-old sister: Career criminal was out on bail at the time
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] - On Friday morning, police say Joseph Ridge, 58, broke into the Middleborough, Massachusetts home of Avery Cormie, 14, and her 12-year-old sister while they were home alone
- Avery was awoken by Ridge and she bravely confronted him with two steak knives
- The terrified teen called 911, asking the dispatcher if she can 'call her parents really fast,' but she remained on the line
- As Ridge fled Avery recorded his truck which Middleborough police said led to his arrest
- Ridge was apprehended shortly after and charged with aggravated breaking and entering during the day, trespassing and disorderly conduct
