Head of watchdog founded by 'Democrats' attack dog' that's trying to force advertisers off Twitter over Musk takeover DEFENDS decision to ban Hunter Biden laptop story - and says there's nothing suspicious about him selling his paintings for $500k
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] - Angelo Carusone, president and CEO of Media Matters for America, appeared on Thursday on CSPAN's Washington Journal
- Carusone was asked by a caller why he thought there had not been more reporting on Hunter Biden's laptop
- He said Twitter was right to ban the New York Post's reporting on it, saying: 'It was consistent with their policies of leaked information that was not verified'
- Twitter's co-founder Jack Dorsey has since said that they made the wrong call, and the laptop has been verified by other outlets including the Washington Post
- Carusone was also asked why there had not been more investigation of Hunter Biden's art sales, and replied that he thought it was a worthwhile topic
- Carusone added that he did not see anything suspicious in the sale of the art works, which were priced at up to $500,000
- Carusone's organization is one of 26 which signed a letter to advertisers this week calling on them to be wary of a 'cesspool of misinformation' on Twitter
- They said advertisers should reconsider support for Twitter when Elon Musk takes over, as he threatens to 'toxify' the platform by removing limits on speech
