Suspected terrorist gets past US border security, arrested in Florida two weeks later
[JustTheNews] FBI matched migrant to terror watch list two weeks after he arrived at Southwest border

Federal officials allowed a suspect terrorist into the U.S. when he reportedly came last month to the country's southwest border as a migrant.

The suspected terrorist, identified as Isnardo Garcia-Amado, 35, was released into the U.S. by Border Patrol agents April 18 near Yuma, Arizona. He was then arrested two weeks later after the FBI matched him to the terror watch list., according to Fox News.

Garcia-Amado, a Colombian citizen, was given a GPS monitoring device as an alternative to detention, based on a memo Fox says it obtained from a federal source. Giving such a device is standard alternative given to some migrant as an alternative to wait in detention for an immigration hearing.

He was flagged by the FBI's Terrorist Screening Center on April 21.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement didn't receive authorization to arrest Garcia-Amado until May 4. He was arrested May 6 in Pinellas County, Florida and transferred three days later to ICE custody on May 9, the memo also reportedly states.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson told Fox News that after receiving additional information about Garcia-Amado, the man was "promptly detained."
