Foreigners captured by Russian forces sentenced to death. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
[BBC] UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has just spoken with her Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba.They discussed the death sentences given to two Britons, Aiden Aslin and Shaun Pinner, and Moroccan national Brahim Saaudun. The three soldiers were captured by Russian troops while fighting for Ukraine. Truss tweeted that the judgement against them was an "egregious breach of the Geneva convention" and that her and Kuleba had discussed efforts to secure their release. I'm pretty sure the Geneva convention allows battlefield executions of foreign mercenaries. "There's no justification at all for this breach of the protection they're entitled to."
