Five killed in Al-Shabaab attack on African Union forces in Somalia
[Garowe] At least five soldiers were killed and several injured in a roadside blast targeting African Union...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... forces in Somalia on Saturday. A convoy of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) hit a landmine on the outskirts of Marka, the thriving provincial capital of the southwestern Lower Shabelle region. The five soldiers killed were Ugandans serving in the AU mission, according to local media reports. Officials in the region confirmed the attack but did not specify the number of casualties. The AU mission is yet to comment on the incident. The al-Shabaab  ...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...terror group has grabbed credit for the attack.
