TikTok-inspired 'Orbeez Challenge' ends in MURDER after New Yorker, 18, is shot and killed 'by off-duty jail warden' when teen fired illegal air rifle at him from passing car

- Middleton was charged with murder of the teen, who allegedly fired at the cop with an air rifle for an 'Orbeez Challenge'
- Afterwards, Middleton continued to work without reporting the incident, it is claimed
- The challenge asks TikTokers and YouTubers to equip their air rifles or water guns with gel pellets and fire them at unsuspecting victims as a prank
- The NYPD has warned against using these toys and has confiscated several of them after the fatal shooting
- Middleton was arrested at the NYPD academy's firing range in Rodman's Neck, where he clocked into work hours after the shooting
