California to begin plan for its sweeping BAN on new gasoline car sales TOMORROW in bid to reach 100 percent zero emissions by 2035
 - California will start its ban on the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles Thursday, which was first announced in 2020
- The goal is to stop the sale of all new gasoline vehicles by 2035
- This, according to officials, aims to reduce smog and combat climate change
- Thursday's launch will require that 35 percent of new passenger vehicles sold in the state by 2026 produce zero emissions
- Then 68 percent by 2030 and ultimately 100 percent five years after.
