Tristan Hirsch, 24, was wounded in the Kabul airport attack on August 26 last year

He said Marines had spotted the bomber hanging around for two days

'We knew what he looked like. The CIA let us know,' said Hirsch

They asked for permission to kill him but were unable to stop the attack

13 US personnel and at least 170 Afghans died in the suicide attack

Hirsch said US troops saw Taliban gunmen shoot people in the chaotic crowd
